My oldest Alex, he is the super underoo man. I took this quite a wile ago, he was parading around the house in his under roo’s showing off for me.

Just before Brinley got here, Just a couple of days actually. I was miserable….. But as you can see I was still addicted to my Green Apple Jones Soda.

Mommy in the beginning stages of labor…

Baby Brinley is here….
I am so excited that I am able to go back to work. I am sure those of you that have no desire to work or don’t have to so that you can stay home with you kids are thinking that I am just horrible. But I get so stir crazy being home with my chitlins.
Don’t get me wrong I love them, I really do, they just drive me insane. I have been so accustomed to working my whole life even after my other two were born that for me to have been home as long as I have been was excruciating. There are days when I wish that I could just stay home and be with my kids so that I know everything about them and their day. But for us we need both incomes so I am hoping that with me back to work that it will relieve some of our household stress.
I am working for a construction restoration company in Stayton ,Oregon. I love it. My boss is great. He is a really nice guy that is really laid back, which is perfect for me. I can’t stand to be micromanaged. Don’t get me wrong he is there when I need him or have a question but for the most part he lets me do my thing.
The hours are flexible for my kids (which is an absolute necessity) and the pay is not too bad. The only thing that I really don’t like about it is that I have to drive about 20 miles to get to work.
Well gotta go, Brinley is complaining and I am headed out the door to work. Have a good one.
My three year old just graduated from his first year in preschool. He will do two years because he is only three, and will not be four until October. I was so excited for him. He got a certifcate of graduation and a graduation cap and the whole nine yards. It was so darn cute.
If you have read or do ready my blog you will remember that my son is handicapped. Well he is Autistic so he has been in a class full of special children. There are children with downs, cerebral palsy, the works. They are just the sweetest bunch of little ones that I had ever seen. To see them light up with enthusiasm as they made their way across the little stage area to receive their diplomas was just awe inspiring. Then there are the families of the other children, that just make the whole scene. There is no discrimination against race, religion, sex or anything of the sort, just families that have to work at parenting just a little harder to ensure that our children receive the same opportunities as other kids.
I don’t have the pics from the ceremony yet because, like the genius that I am I grabbed the camera, extra batteries, the whole nine yards but I forgot the memory card. I felt like an idiot. That’s ok my mom got a ton of photos and she is supposed to be emailing them to me.
Brinley is growing so fast and so much it is almost overwhelming. I wish that she was just the tiny infant that she was about 12 weeks ago. I have pictures of her that I need to upload as well.
I think that she is going to have to get tubes in her ears like her father and sister. I am working on the 2nd ear infection in the last three weeks. I feel terrible. I wish that there was something that I could do for her other than what is feel is doping her up on Tylenol hoping that it takes some of the pain away while the antibiotics do their job. Well speaking of Brinley she is summoning me. Have a good one.
I actually like this one too!!! That does not happen very often. Usually because I am too scared to try new foods, but I had a pound of hamburger and a few mouths to feed so I thought what the heck lets try something different. I was even able to use only one pan!!
Ingredients
- 1lb ground beef
- 6 sm. cubes of beef bullion
- 8 c. water
- 4 cubed potatoes
- seasoning salt
- salt
- pepper
- 1 can corn
- 1 sm. onion
- 1 c. instant white rice
So what I did was (This is a combination of a few recipies)
- Brown the beef with the season salt
- Drain it
- Add the water with bullion
- Add cubed potatoes and chopped onion
- Let simmer covered for about 10 min
- Add can of corn
- Let simmer covered another 10 min
- Add the cup of instant rice
- Remove from heat and cover
- Serve when the rice is fully cooked
- Salt and pepper to taste
Like I said it was really easy, but it is enough to feed at least 6 or more, pretty cheaply.
If you try it I hope that you enjoy!!
I was just leaving my weekly Dr. appointment at the hospital this afternoon when I saw a woman hit two vehicles while she was trying to park. So let me set the scene for you…
My dr appointments are at the Family Birth Clinic at the hospital here in Salem, Oregon. There is alot of construction work going on around there so parking is in the garage thing quite a ways away. (Far enough that they have a shuttle)
I had parked on the ground floor because it is easier to get in and out of but also because I am huge and fat and I just don’t want to walk anymore than I have to. So I was headed back to my van with my son Alex in his stroller. (Too far for him to walk) when this lady in a red land rover was going the wrong way down the isle. Needless to say in a parking garage there is barely enough room for a car going the right way down the isle to navigate between the huge monster trucks that park in there let alone go the wrong way and try to swing into a spot. Well that is what she was doing or at least attempting to do. So she finally figured out after like 6 attempts that she could not get her car in the spot, so she decided that she was going to turn around. That was proving to be difficult because of the lack of space, as I was getting Alex in the car I was watching her through the back window and watched her back into a medium sized white Dodge Dakota. She I don’t think realized that she had hit it because she was still backing up. I jumped out of my van and started waving my arms telling her to stop, she did and when she looked back she looked embarrassed. Then she pulled forward almost hitting MY van, (thankfully for her she didn’t I am not in the best of moods and she might not have liked what I would have had to say) and tried to back up again this time hitting a silver Subaru outback.
After about 5 min of maneuvering she finally was able to get in to the parking spot, (going around would have been much easier) when she emerged from her vehicle she just looked at me then went on her merry way. I could not believe it… She just hit two cars not one but two and was going to walk away? All I could think was amazing just amazing.
So knowing that if someone had hit my car I would want to know I waited for her to leave and drove around to get the plate information, make and model of all three vehicles. I just hope that someone would do that for me. Now that I had the information I wasn’t sure what to do with it, so I went to the security guard by the doors to my dr office and gave him the information. The only thing about that is I was the ONLY witness except the person that did I , so I had to give over my license and all that good information so that if the owners wanted to do something they had a way of contacting me.
It’s kind of scary when someone would do that and not even tell you. I know I have only refeered to the person as a woman in this post but when she got out of her car it was not what I would have expected. She was a distinguished looking lady in her late 40’s early 50’s if I had to guess. Not that I expect that kind of behavior from anyone but I would have more expected a teen or young driver to do something that stupid. Now I am just wondering how many other people she had hit and ran on and they are just stuck with the bill.
I guess this is just something that I will reflect on next time I get in or walk behind my car.
